DIGITAL2018: The A to Z of digitisation

The entire hall cheered! After two days of high-intensity digitisation experiences, DIGITAL2018 ended with a performance by the Black Eyed Peas. Offering a relaxed vibe and pure inspiration – DIGITAL2018 exceeded all expectations.

From the Internet of Things to the Internet of Senses

As companies broaden their digital skills, humans are broadening their senses as cyborgs. Neil Harbisson provided insights into life as a cyborg – from the initial idea to transplanting his antennas. The keynote by Steve Wozniak was an absolute highlight; he had always wanted to be an engineer, and the audience felt that as soon as he took to the stage in his sneakers and casual shirt and spoke about the idea behind the tech company Apple. The visitors were thrilled: “I first thought one day would be enough. But something told me to go for the combo ticket. I feel so energised and have taken in so much. Seeing Steve Wozniak live was great, and Neil Harbisson impressed me a lot.“

Transformation requires a fill to change

DIGITAL2018 is all about the notion that digitisation means change – technological and mental. Blockchain, cyber attacks or artificial intelligence. Fear turns into enthusiasm, dialogue, and rethinking. One visitor attended a presentation and was so inspired that he waited by the stage at the end so he could contact the speaker directly. “If I’m honest, AI scared me. Now I know why. I simply had no idea.”

Digitalisation is more than technology

Digital transformation is not something we can face on our own. We need a network, a discussion, a way of approaching things together. This discussion was precisely the focus of the networking dinner on 7 November. Some 1,500 people were able to share their inspirations of the day. One visitor, engaged in an active exchange at a table, describes the networking dinner as follows: “When and where else can you experience a networking dinner of this scale, this quality and with so many different, fascinating people? It’s fantastic!”

“You can sense change is happening.”

A great DIGITAL2018 is now over, and in we’ll be going into extra time in 2019. Allow us to use, shape and transform this time. Digital transformation is worth it. Every single day. Get going and secure your ticket for DIGITAL2019 here.
